At SOMA, we believe destinations are at their best when they bring together architecture, retail, community, and culture. That conviction is what gave rise to Arte Abierto, our art foundation, which was born at ARTZ: as a space to democratize contemporary art and make it accessible to everyone.
Now, Arte Abierto is preparing to take its mission further. With the upcoming expansion of Antara in Mexico City, and the launch of Ánima Village in Los Cabos, Arte Abierto will become part of these two SOMA projects. Both destinations will integrate exhibitions, programs, and immersive experiences designed by national and international artists, creating new opportunities for learning, dialogue, and creativity.
By bringing art into these mixed-use developments, we aim to enrich daily life and cultivate communities where culture is not a separate experience, but one that flows naturally alongside exploring, shopping, dining, work, and leisure. Arte Abierto is central to that vision—a platform where contemporary art becomes part of the places people already love to gather.
