September 27 saw the inauguration of the first Apple Flagship Store in Mexico and Latin America
Integrated into the Antara complex at the entrance from Blvd Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra stands the second Apple Store in Mexico and the first flagship store in the whole of Latin America. This is a grand pavilion for customers to get to know Apple’s latest products, seek the advice of a Genius or attend a “Today at Apple” session.
For Apple Antara, the Apple design team took as a conceptual reference point the design, décor and architectural values of the projects by Foster+Partners, who have been behind the development of the company’s most significant buildings, from the Apple Park to the most distinctive flagship stores.
According to the Apple Newsroom, this store “[…] takes full advantage of Mexico City’s mild climate, the large sliding doors open to create a 20-foot-wide entrance to welcome visitors in from the public plaza outside. A thin profile metal roof hovers above limestone-clad walls and curved corner glass panels to create a bright great hall. The interior trees blur the boundary between inside and out, where the community can gather on stone benches in the plaza along Boulevard Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra”.
