Accounting & Tax Automation Specialist
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Public Accounting (CPA preferred)
- Specialization in Tax (preferred)
- Experience in automation of accounting and tax processes (preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced English (required for technical and regulatory reading)
- 5–8 years of experience in accounting and tax
- Proven experience in CFDI reconciliation, handling tax authority requirements, and developing tools in Excel (macros/VBA)
- Up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations
- Knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF) (preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (mandatory, including macros and automation)
- Experience in large-scale CFDI reconciliations and preventive controls before the Tax Administration Service (SAT)
- Experience using ASPEL systems (COI/NOI)
- Team player
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong deadline management skills
- Clear and effective communication skills
Responsibilities
- Record the entity’s financial transactions
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns, including informational filings
- Calculate federal and state taxes
- Prepare basic financial statements
- Respond to tax authority requirements and audits
- Support internal and external audits
- Process payroll calculations
- Design and implement advanced Excel tools (macros and automation) to optimize accounting and tax processes
- Prepare automated monthly reconciliations of issued and received CFDIs, identifying inconsistencies in a timely manner
- Establish preventive controls to mitigate risks of observations or notices from the Tax Administration Service (SAT)
- Systematize tax calculations (taxes, withholdings, payroll) through structured and reliable models
- Generate automated reports and working papers to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
